# MAN SEEKING CREATIVE COLLABORATION ACCIDENTALLY JOINS SECOND LIFE SWINGERS’ LINKEDIN

A SECOND LIFE resident has expressed disappointment after discovering that CollabHub is essentially a knocking shop with networking facilities.

 27 September 2026

A SECOND LIFE resident has expressed disappointment after discovering that CollabHub, which promotes itself as a community where photographers, models, artists and other creative residents can meet potential collaborators, is essentially a knocking shop with networking facilities.

Martin Firepants, 58, joined after seeing residents inviting others to “collab”, “create” and “explore artistic expression”.

His initial impressions were encouraging. CollabHub itself resembles a film set abandoned sometime around 1987, all neon lighting and geometric graphics, looking somewhere between American Gigolo and a scene from Tron.

Martin assumed this meant he had discovered a sophisticated creative community. “I thought it would be photographers meeting models, artists exchanging ideas, that sort of thing,” he said. "Within ten minutes I’d been asked whether I was comfortable with nudity, restraints and a bath.”

## ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

The resulting work generally appears on Primfeed, where badly executed pornography is transformed into erotic art by turning the saturation down and giving it a title like Vulnerability.

A typical photograph features two naked avatars staring moodily into the middle distance while their genitals occupy most of the foreground. The accompanying description will invariably mention “connection”, “energy”, “intimacy” and “the complexity of the human condition”.

One photographer described his latest work as “an uncompromising examination of identity, submission and the fragility of desire”.

Martin looked at the photograph. “It’s a man’s arse.”

"It’s remarkable,” he continued. “You can apparently turn absolutely anything into art by reducing the colour saturation and calling it Unspoken.”

Primfeed artists also routinely test the limits of the site’s content classifications.

A photograph of a man with an erection the size of a roll of carpet, will initially be uploaded as General, on the grounds that it is principally a study of light.

It will remain General until it's reported and a vicar in South Wales, looks at it for a moment and concludes: “It's a biy racy, that.” and then reluctantly reclassifies it as Moderate.

Despite Second Life’s almost unlimited possibilities for personal expression, Martin has also discovered that the male population appears to possess one of only four penises.

“There’s the enormous one, the even more enormous one, the one with veins like the Satnav display and the one with a control panel.”

Female anatomy is similarly standardised around a popular mesh attachment Martin described as resembling “a lasagne someone has punched”.

## SERIOUS PHOTOGRAPHERS

CollabHub photographers frequently advertise for “open-minded models interested in exploring challenging themes”. The challenging theme is usually being naked near a window.

Martin investigated the portfolio of one photographer seeking models for “an exploration of sensuality through the digital form”. “It was 46 pictures of people shagging.”

Martin then attempted to find collaborators for a photographic project documenting forgotten Second Life architecture. Nobody replied. He subsequently reposted it as MALE PHOTOGRAPHER SEEKS MODELS FOR DARK, SENSUAL EXPLORATION OF ABANDONED SPACES.

He received 31 messages before he’d finished making a cup of tea.

Martin has since changed his CollabHub profile to read: LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER — NO NUDITY

Within minutes, somebody messaged to ask if he did beaches
